A safe place for cats that have none
We rescue, treat and rehome cats that have been abandoned, left sick or mistreated in Ibiza and across the Balearic Islands — and we work so that fewer of them need us each year.

What the sanctuary will look like
A walk through the centre the Foundation will build in Ibiza: the intake and treatment areas, the space open to visitors and the activities for the community.

A lasting answer to a persistent problem
The Roger Claessens Foundation is a private non-profit organisation established in Ibiza in May 2026. Its assets are permanently committed to a single public-interest purpose: the protection and care of cats that have been abandoned, left sick or mistreated.
In Ibiza, feline colonies have depended for years on the discontinuous, unpaid effort of individuals. Our proposal is different: permanent infrastructure, veterinary standards, real capacity to take cats in, and a funding model that does not rest on a single source of income.

The Ibiza cat sanctuary
The Foundation has acquired land in Ibiza where it will build a rescue, treatment and adoption centre with its own clinic, quarantine areas, socialisation rooms and separate units for cats with feline immunodeficiency.
The centre will also open its doors to visitors: a route that shows the real work of the shelter and that, through a café and shop, helps fund the animals' care throughout the year.

Clear accounts from day one
We are a foundation supervised by the Protectorate of the Balearic Islands. Our statutes, action plan and annual accounts are public, and no member of the Board receives any remuneration.
The Foundation distributes no profits. Everything it receives goes to its charitable purpose or to strengthening its assets.
The annual accounts are approved by the Board and filed with the Protectorate of the Balearic Islands.
Help us build the sanctuary
Every contribution becomes veterinary care, food and a safe place for cats that have none today. You can also help by giving your time.
